Cue In Progress Photos........

Viewing photos of cues in progress is something that's always fascinated me, probably as much as the cue design itself.
Now actual cue designs are entirely a different matter and for most people, it's either love, dislike or just a ho hum reaction.
Well, I've had a very specific cue design in mind for awhile and fortunately located a great cue-maker willing to tackle it.

The veneers on my cue seem to create a optical illusion. at least to my eye. You see purple when there isn't any. Probably due to the red
and blue veneers being adjacent to each other. However, when you look close, all the veneers appear very distinctly.

The butt is ebony with an ivory butt cap.
Above and below the Cortland Linen #9 wrap are ivory/ebony stitch Bushka Collars and a 3rd Bushka just above the ivory butt cap separated with a small sleeve of ebony.
There are double boxed red veneers that have ivory dots at teach corner and inside the boxes are double ivory propellers separated by an ivory dot.
There's a total of 7 ivory inlays to each box and there will be three boxed veneers and in between the boxes, probably some vertical ivory bars.
However, I've also encouraged my cue-maker to use whatever he thought was the best inlay design for spacing between the boxed veneers.

I designed the forearm's with three high ebony points containing an ivory propeller and one ivory dot above and two ivory dots below the propellor.
The three low ebony points will have either one larger size ivory dot or else two ivory dots (same size as other dots); my cue-maker will decide whether 1 or 2 dots looks best.
I have also discussed with my cue-maker about staining the BEM darker which should help quiet the veneer colors which turned out more bold looking and colorful than I initially imagined........Yipes!
