Cue maintenance question.

I am rather anal about how my shaft feels and looks as well as the wrap and shine of my cue. I find myself cleaning my shaft with a slightly damp cloth almost everyday when I get done playing. I try not to clean my linen wrap with a damp cloth too much because it raises the thread and makes it fuzzy.

My question is what is the proper way to clean a shaft and butt with a wrap in order to insure there is no damage in the long run?

For everyday cleaning after playing, I use a microfiber towel to wipe down my cue, wrap, shaft, and all. The towels are packaged several to a pack and are available in the automotive section of WalMart. They are very soft and won't scratch a cue's finish.

I agree with the above, but one of the best things you can do is keep your hands clean! Always wash and dry your hands before taking you cue out of the case. That alone helps wonders...
