Cue Material Questions

Was wondering if anyone could tell me the differences in these materials/parts for ordering a custom cue..
An ivory or phenolic ferrule, or having no ferrule-has anyone ever tried??
A phenolic, ivory, or stainless steel joint.. How much weight does a ss joint add?
A phenolic, or ivory buttcap.. is phenolic stronger and therefore better applied down there for durability?

You gotta play with lots of cues to find your preference. Myself I have steel joints, too hard and lacks feel. Ivory is better but a bit pingy. I like a piloted phenolic joint.

Ferrules same thing. Actually the tip and ferrule combo determine the cue hit most of all.
