Cue Peeling rubber type coating.

I have a viking cue from the mid 90's that I have been using ever since.

Over the past month or two I have noticed sections of the butt (above the grip) have been peeling off what seems to be some type of clear rubber coating, almost like really thick scotch tape.

Is this something I should be concerned about or have refinished in some way?

Thanks

Jim

Hi Jim
I have seen this happen, especially on stained and painted cues. Yes, you should have it refinished.

I am assume Viking would be the logical choice to get it repaired? Or is this something an independent repair place would typically handle?

Hi Jim
If it's stained or painted, I would send it to Viking as they are the most familiar with what they did. If it's not, another source could be an option.
