have asked this before but wanted some more opinions - which cue has the closest feeling hit to the older meucci cues - i know the shafts have problems now but i love that "soft-hiiting feel" that the older cues had - i hate a steel joint - i know you may say viking or mcdermott but i was really looking for a cue more upper end -

Older Meucci

Well I read this off of a susiecuebilliards.com - "They are hand made one at a time by Mike Erwin who once worked for Meucci cues for 17 years." If this is true try to get a hold of Mike Erwin he has ventured out on his own.

If you like a Meucci, just get a Meucci. I have to disagree about the shafts. I have a couple of red dots that are as straight as an arrow and play great. Just have it hand picked for straightness, weight, and tip size.

I agree that if you want a hit like the older meucci cues Mike builds the closest thing to the older Meucci cues. I have some of the older real meucci ferrules which gives the soft hit. If you find a cue you really like with a flat faced joint I can install a Meucci ferrule or solid capped high action ferrule. You would be surprised how much difference that will make in the hit. What are you playing with now?
