Cue refinish question, repairing dents in forearm

I have an old Palmer PB7 I bought new in the early eighties, it was my player for years and the finish shows it. There are a couple of fairly deep dents on the inlay points on the forearm. The dents cross over all the different colors on the points.

How does a repairman fix/lift these dents that cross over the inlay points, (that have maybe three different colors) considering the wood would either have to be filled in and re-colored or ... what?

I'm considering having the cue refinished and was curious how something like this would be repaired. Below is a pic of the cue.

Thanks

I usually wrap dents with a soaking wet paper towel and it sweats the the dings out. Then fine sand and scotch brite.

I've used water to remove dents from the cue shaft for years but if the dent is too deep to swell it out with water, then what?

put a wet cloth on the dent and put a red hot spoon to it and it steams the dents out. practice first so you understand how to do it.

and that cue doesnt need a refinish. live with the dents. every time you refinish a cue you take something away from it.

I have often suspected great players of having special powers we commoners do not possess.
I am 70 years old so have seen and talked to a lot of well above average pool players, guitarists, artists and others through the years.
They seem to just catch on very quickly as to how things work in their area of interest where most of us have to really work at it. They just seem to see how it all fits together much better or easier than most. "Oh, I see how this works!" and they are off! They too have to pay some dues but it is a lot less time until they are collecting YOUR dues! I suspect they operate from a better intuitive level than most do. Just wired better for it than most are.

That is going to be alot of work for somebody Paul at pfd would be your best bet, , a refish is pfd's forte,

I might try The Ding King. On TV it can repair the entire car door... Therefor it must great for dinged cues.
