I have a cue that has a wrap on the handlle and some kind of finish coating over the wrap. I want to refinish this cue and remove the finish coating from the handle. What is the best way to remove this coating without damaging the wrap underneath?

first, are you doing it yourself? If so, what are your abilities for such a project? Second, what is the actual cue brand? pictures are better in this type of question. This is NOT a DIY kinda youtube thing if you want it to come out properly. It will involve refinishing the whole cue to have the best outcome, so not cheap. Most times its actually better to buy a cue the way you want it then to reinvent how this one was done. Getting finish to lift off of a linen wrap without it lifting from the forearm and butt sleeve at the same time is basically a huge PIA for someone that knows what they are doing, let alone a one timer...and more times than not it will require removing the old wrap and re-installing a new one...... plus the refinish job...more $$$
