Cue repair??

Can somebody tell me if I'm being unreasonable about a jump/break cue that I sent back for repair. The jump handle unscrewed about halfway and got stuck and I put too much pressure on it and stripped the pin out. So I sent it back to the cuemaker in Florida. I told him I screwed it up and would pay for the repair and he said ok. Well 14 months and a few calls later and no cue yet. Is this normal ?? Any ideas what I should do next?

The repair would probably only take a few hours at most to do. He must be really busy if he cannot find those few hours in that many months.

If he built the cue, and he said he would fix it, then he should fix it relatively quickly or have his reputation dragged through the mud. This is a good beginning.

He should have had it back to you in less than a week unless he had a life threatening event in his life, IMO. He should have communicated also.

14 months is ridiculous. For comparison, I had a similar problem with a Varney j/b cue. It was repaired and back in my hands in six days, including shipping 3,000 miles each way.

I think I'll wait a couple of weeks before posting the name. I'm hoping he reads this thread hint hint. But yea 14 months is nuts, just want it back because it's a pretty nice jump/break!!!!
