Cue signed Abear 4-92

I have this cue and I know very little about it. 8-points 4-high 4-low, the points and inlays are made from a very shinny white material, possibly bone, the joint protectors are bone, 5/16-14 SS joint, the shafts are well used but straight. Here are some pics, can anybody tell me what this inlay and point material is made of, and if there is anything interesting about this cue. It plays great

Your cue was made by Steve Hebert (pronounced a-bear) in Arlington, Texas.

Steve was a very well known cue maker and repairman before health problems forced him to quit the biz.

He replaced an elkhorn ferrule on my Hagan.

Abear

That's a great looking cue....that's for sure. It's more traditional than alot of his cues. He used a lot of exotic horn and bone for his cues. He liked using Water buffalo horn, walrus jawbone, and mammoth ivory among many others. From these pictures I can't really tell what the inlays are....if it didn't have Abear's name on it I would think it would be ivory....but since it's an abear, I don't know for sure unless I saw it up close....

Are you interested in selling it or just learning about it?

Also, McKinneyMiner, are you interested in selling your Hagan? Also, do you play any tournaments in the Richardson/Plano area?

have had many many Abears....and knew steve hebert personally. I still have 2 of his cues

the white points in this one is ivorine...he used it early on in his cuemaking because an ivory blank from prather was too much money invested to screw up. This is a nice cue.
