Cue Storage

Hello all, I just read a thread re: taper roll (http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=236522) and now am feeling that non-straight cue paranoia.

What's the best practice for storing cues at home? I typically just keep them in the case and try to keep the case as vertical as possible...

I've kept my McDermott in it's hard case since the day I bought it brand new, 26 years ago, don't really pay attention to how it is layed, sometimes it is horizontal, other times it has been verticle, and the cue is as straight as the day I bought it. I think it all has to do with a good case and not leaving your stick out in your baking hot or freezing cold car all the time, but that's just my opinion.

I would also LOVE to know where you can buy GOOD hard cases now-a-days. I'm very partial to the OLD McDermott cases that were lined in a velvet type material but can't find any cases like that now to save my life.
