Do you prefer a merry widow or a cue with points...and why. I have an Amboyna Burl merry widow cue and just love it. Decided to go merry widow with it because I could not see messing up the looks of the wood. Your thoughts. Dave
 
Points, but simple.

Specifically the veneered (sp?) look of the old titlist type cues.
 
I like to see a few points in my cue. This one only has 54, and you still get an appreciation for the fine woods used in it.

I like more fancy cues, with points, but not exaggerate, and the white end of butt cue (TAD style). Why I like them? Because I only use cue with wrap.
 
I play with the last cue I made, which is a Merry Widow, and I like it, but I really don't have a preference. From the complicated artistic cue to the plain as the nose on your face cue, they all look good to me. :smile:

I prefer plain unadorned or low adorned (is that a term?) cues with or without points, but the wood is fairly important. I love looking at fancy cues, but I've really been one to order one.

Caution: Merry Widow used to have a distinct meaning, but like the term Sneaky Pete... it seems to have changed.
