Cue suggestions

Now planning to get into tournament shape after a long hiatus from the game and the search is now on for a a new cue.

I've been used to playing English Pool with my Snooker cue for several years however the transition now requires a different cue.

Are Ash shafts available here in the US and what are some excellent suggestions for between $250-$500?

I'm not a fan of any of the fancy inlays etc, but am looking something that resembles a snooker cue.

just use your snooker cue until you can try some larger shafts
ash shafts are not common for USA pool but you can find them
