My question is about shaft and tip maintance. What products/methods is everybody using to clean and shape their cues? I know this is like asking what's the best tip, everbody has their own opinion, but curious mind want to know.

the best products for shaft maintnece that i've found over the last 26 years, is a product called Q-clean and Q-slick. i am planning on ordering Q-glide, and Q-smooth as well, all part of the same company. and as far as tip maintnence, i prefer the ulti-mate cue tip tool, it's 5 tools in one.

Keeping your cue clean can be as simple as washing your hands often during a sassion and wiping your shaft with a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth after each session. For a really dirty shaft I use lighter fluid on a soft cloth and rub vigorously. IMO those specific products for cues are nothing more than an expensive way accomplish the same thing. I stay away from them.

For shaping the tip I suggest a piece of approx 120 grip sandpaper cupped in your palm. Sure, there are tools you can buy. The so called Ultimate-Tip-Tool® is about the most expensive and worthless. It can easily cause you to need a new ferrule. They bring me lots of work :).
