Cuetec Cynergy Shaft

Does the butt of a cue really make any difference? I'm looking into getting a carbon fiber shaft, and I have a lucasi butt. Would a cuetec cynergy work well w/ a lucasi butt?

People switch out shafts all the time. Much easier than adjusting to a whole new cue. I bought a cynergy awhile back and liked it way more on my cue than on the cuetec cues I tried cause everything still felt “normal”

A cue with a joint made of a plastic material will be more damped than a cue with a stainless steel joint. I have tried the same shaft on both, and the stainless steel cue had a firmer hit.

To add additional complication, a soft tip vs. a hard tip can also change this feel too.

If you like your current cue I would say just throw a CF shaft on it and go from there. I think Pool Dawg and Seyberts will let you try it out for 30 days as long as there are no motifications made to it when ordering (like a tip change).

I have personal experience with one of those combinations. It works just fine, IF you like the hit of a Cynergy shaft.

For balance and hit feel the butt of the cue has an affect on that. For measurable performance, the butt does nothing, that's all in the shaft. A wood dowel with a shaft at the end will have the same aiming line as a $5000 Searing or Blackboar with that same shaft.
