Has anyone tried this combo?

I currently have an Everest tip on my Cynergy 12.5mm but was thinking to go softer and I've got some Ultraskin Pros lying around. I'm curios if anyone has used them on a Cynergy.

NOOO don't do it, it will create a reaction that will blow up half of your local area for blocks around and cause baldness in anyone that even looks at your cue.

Seriously though, what is the harm in trying it? Why would it work worse or better than any other shaft or tip combination? I don't think I have run across a shaft I did not like that was helped much by a tip or a tip I did not like that I liked on some other shaft. Try it, what's the worse that will happen? You won't like it and change back.

I hear you. I just had the Everest installed but have heard softer is the way to go with carbon fiber shafts. Just curios if others have tried it and how it worked out.

I have had both soft and medium tips on CF shafts, and like the soft but I also like soft tips on all my shafts so not really anything different LOL.

I think the idea of using softs came with the fact that CF is a stiffer material, so pairing it with a soft tip should balance it out. In practice, not sure I find that a thing to worry about, it's the same as finding any shaft/tip combination a person would like. I play with an OB Carbon now, that has a medium tip, and may change that out for a soft at some point, but mostly due to the fact I am not a fan of how the tip that is on it feels on some harder shots not because it's a CF shaft.

I find the softness choice relates to total weight of the cue and the size table you usually shoot on. My usual venue is all barbox. 18 oz cue with either Kamui hard or clear hard. 18.5 oz has Kamui clear brown med.

There were ultraskins (not pro) on a couple, but they didn't seem to like carbon fiber.

It's not a Cynergy, however I've swapped between varieties of Medium and Soft tips on my Revo and stuck with the Zan Medium in the end. Lasts a long time and works well.

I couldn't notice much difference in feel from Medium to Soft on any particular shot either.

I'd give it a go if you want. They are similar to Kamui from what I've been told but I haven't tried an Ultraskin yet.

The OB carbon I just sold had an Everest and the guy loved it. It hit/sounded nice but I didn't end up liking that particular shaft.

My playing cue is a McDermott. My favorite tip on my i-shaft is a ultraskin soft. I just got a defy cf 2 weeks ago and the ultraskin wasn't available. I got it with a navigator automatic soft and it plays pretty good. I haven't decided to replace it with a ultraskin or not yet.

SERIOUSLY?
