I see someone was looking for curly maple shaft blanks. I have 25 to 30 pieces of wood that has been here 20 plus years. Possibly a few birdseye shaft blanks also. These are straight grain, relatively clean with minimal brown thread and 20 growth rings per inch (estimate). They are now aged maple color - they were white 20 years ago! I also have a pile of maple from the Goodman Forest tract in upper Wisconsin/Upper Peninsula of Michigan which is loaded with old growth wood. Some of this is straight grain but has quite a bit of birdseye in it. This wood has been cut over 25 years - some of the last wood before the tract was harvested heavily and destroyed. I might consider attempting to salvage shaft blanks if there is interest.
