Curly maple shafts?

Are there any significant differences in the physical properties (resonance, density, etc.) of hard rock maple and curly maple? Regardless of the answer, is it possible to have curly maple shafts? How would curly maple shafts play differently, if at all, from hard rock maple shafts? Curious, because I'm thinking of getting curly maple shafts for a custom design cue if they play close to hard maple shafts.

Thanks for your expert answers.

Dennis Dieckman at one time swore they play better if they are hard curl. I can't tell much difference and I turn them slower than regular maple to keep them stable. The ones I have seem to be real stable, but I have been turning on them for 6 years or so. I don't build shafts for other brand cues, but I will sell a blank or two for your cuemaker.
