Holy crap!!! I got to say that purple heart is my favorite kind of wood to see in a cue as long as its done right and this really was done right! Beuatiful cues you have there!
Schmelke makes an outstanding cue for the buck. I wish their logo was a bit more...discreet...and that their bumper wasn't so ginormous....but thatose are two awesome lookin' cues. When I was a kid growing up in Chicago...we used to vacation in NW Wisconsin at a place called Bear Lake. My great uncle had a resort with about 8 cottages. On the way there...we always used to pass Schmelke's. I don't know why I remember it so well...I was so young. I didn't even start shooting pool until years and years later. But yeah...they're up in god's country.
Custom
They are custom yes, 1 of 1, i don't know. You could call them and have them build the same thing. They can do pretty much anything you want. I had them made 60" long, chose the weight, ring work i wanted, the taper and the ferrule length, shaft size and joints. I sent them a Kaumi tip as they don't stock them. The break cue has a laminated shaft. The pair cost me 335 before shipping. David at schmelke will do about anything. You can even send your own wood in and have a cue made from it( i haven't done this). Heres a pic of the first cue i had them make for me.
