I have a custom made "Uncle Larry" Mohr cue with a predator 314 shaft for sale. valued at $900.00. This cue weighs 19.5 oz. The joint on this cue is a 5/16-14, it is forward balanced and the hit is excellent. The condition of the cue is 85%. The reason I give it a 85% is because the finish chip near the butt of the cue (the wood is unaffected). This can be fixed by a refinishing. I will attach some pictures to show this. The reason I am selling this cue is because I prefer a cue that is 18.5 to 18.8 oz in weight. So make me a reasonable offer. I will also consider a trade. I will sell this cue to the person who makes the best offer. I can be reach at pooljunkieca@gmail.com.
Here is some info on Larry Mohr:
Larry Mohr (known to everyone far and wide as "Uncle Larry") produces some very sweet cues in his one-man shop in Northern CA. He only makes between 12-20 custom cues per year and they're highly sought after by local players here in the Bay Area (including me!), Of course, with such limited production, you've got to be pretty lucky to get one quickly, and there is currently a 4-6 month waiting list for custom work.
Larry is a Master Machinist who opened his first custom machine shop way back in 1965. Like most machinists who are avid pool players, in his spare time he began to "tinker" with the notion of making his own cues. He built his first cue in the mid-80's, and would occasionally make a cue for one of his playing buddies (if they pestered him hard enough!). All that changed when he retired in 2001. He found that he had lot's of time shoot pool in the evening and make cues during the day in his small one-man shop.
Larry is not only an accomplished craftsman, but he is quite an accomplished player as well. He placed second in the USPPA 9-Ball Pro-Am Classic that was held in Reno NV in Dec. 2004 and continues to be a very active player all around the Bay Area. Now if you ask him whether he likes playing pool more than he likes making cues, he'll just give you a big smile and say that he NEVER turns down an opportunity to play pool
"Uncle Larry" custom cues has been one of the "hidden treasures" of the Bay Area for several years, and I have been fortunate to convince him to go "worldwide" and allow me to display some of his beautiful and very playable cues on my website so that I can share his cues with the rest of the world.
