Cutting Slate and Cutting Rails advice

Hi Everyone,

A mechanic is coming over to replace my broken slate in the coming days. The replacement slate is off an Australian/English table so it will differ to the Dynamo slate which came out of it. He believes he will need to cut half an inch off either side and add a strip of wood to the sides to widen the slate to which he is confident will work perfectly.

My idea is to place my broken slate on top of the new slate when on the back of his truck and mark it out with chalk, to ensure the pocket size is correct. Any tips i should pass on in regards to him cutting the pockets if req?

Also, i have bought some k55 rubber- Pool gods rubber from seyberts.
Any tips on how he should determine the correct angle, other then placing them on top of the existing rubber and cutting down on that line/angle.

Presumably he knows what to do already, though since i'll be helping id appreciate any knowledge i can get passed on.
