I played some One Pocket yesterday with Cyclops Balls. I thought the cue ball was extremely light. Anyone else have the same experience?[/SIZE]
I think the overall feedback on cyclops tend to leans towards it being more heavier than the aramiths so it eliminates the skids but personally i witness nore kicks on it as i feel that it glides instead of rolls in aramith.
They were saying on the DCC stream that they are actually a bit heavier than Aramith balls, but that they are harder. The hardness I think is what makes them rebound off each other faster and probably causes them to stay clean longer. The fact that they rebound off each other more or faster is probably what gives the sense or perception that they are lighter IMO.
My guess is that Cyclops balls are less porous and therefore has less friction perhaps. I think they stay cleaner longer than my super aramith pros. But this may just be my perception. I've only played with Cyclops balls maybe 20 times total spread out over a few years.
I like the Cyclops.
Alex told me you can work the object ball better on a bank....
...I made on of those Efren long bank check-back two-railers....felt easy.
But we were using the normal colors....
....I hate those phony coloured ones.....
...wth, when's the last time you had to look at the number on the damn ball...
I hit it good and it backs up about 12/14 inches and sits there and spins for a good long time.
This is one major indication that they're light or slippery.
Light is more likely as I don't see them being any more slippery than the Aramith.
You can get Cyclop in the traditional colors ie. not the skittles colors.

And by the way it's Cyclop, not Cyclops.

For what it's worth...When I was at Derby City last weekend I was sitting around watching the straight pool runs and in between attempts when a couple of pros were sitting around chatting they were saying how much they hated the cue ball on the TV table. (Cyclops) They liked the ones in the straight pool tables. (Arimath)
For the heck of it, when I was down watching the 10-ball bigfoot final I was sitting next to the camera people and saw the box for the balls they were using. See attached.
I keep rotating between Red, Blue, Measle, and the Zit(Cyclop) cueballs.
I think, for me there's something off with the zit. Weight and diameter are perfect, but it definitely comes of the object balls too quick. It also will masse' differently. I think it slides more than the others.
Too white for me, almost bright.
