I know there are two Darts world championships, one just finished, one still one.
The PDC world championship which has finished was just so entertaining to watch
Now here's a sport which is bascially people throwing bits of tungsten and plastic at a big bit of cork but man they really have made the most of it.
Highly skilled, highly entertaining.
The sets format works great. Best of 5 games (legs) per set. First to X number of sets (final was 7 if i remember correctly).
Had the music going after each leg, crowds really gets into it. Models who escort the players to the playing area are stunning.
Commentary is upbeat and interesting.
I can't think of a sport which has maximised what it has to work with more
Power snooker is snooker's equivalent of trying to create a darts like atmosphere. I don't think it worked
