i have an old meucci cue i picked up a couple years ago
its just collecting dust now so im going to try to sell it..

David_Howard_Series.jpg

its the DH-2 model.. i dont have a scanner or a digital camara but on this link:
http://www.discountpoolcues.com/meuccidavidhowardcue3.htm
there is a better picture of it.

david howard was apperently a pro who meucci approached in the early 90's to make some cues in his name, apperently they stopped making them after the initial run.
It's in pretty good condition (i have never shot with it :P)
its not signed or anything, and to the best of my knowlege it was just a regular production cue... it listed as 600~900 depending on condition, but im asking for 400, or best offer and i dont mind haggling with you.

I live in maryland, and can drive to anywhere around there, or you can buy thru paypal, and ill ship it to you. i can borrow a digital camara and take some pictures of the actual cue and it's condition but im a lazy person and wont do that unless i have a serious inquiry.

im also willing to work out some sort of trade since im in the market for a new break cue.. so any cue dealers are welcome to contact me as well...
my contact info:: antiflip@hotmail.com aim:: ioCross or just pm me i check these fourms like once every few days.

Actually, David Howard, former US Open 9-Ball Champ, known as the 'Giant Killer', was a player rep for Bob Meucci for a long time in the 80's and up into the 90's, and as far as I know, still plays(when he has time) with a Meucci. The DH series, was not a short run of cues, but a line that ran right up until the end of the Meucci Originals lineup. Nevertheless, some of the cue designs were retained and still produced, but not as a Meucci Original, but as we now know the logo as the scripted Meucci trademark.

David Howard may have been one of the original power breakers and power strokers. His break, and his stroke even by todays standards would be considered extremely powerful. The only way to describe it was that he could do things Earl couldn't do, but yet also, Earl could do somethings that David couldn't do. In their era, or in that era, these guys were loose cannons and shooters whereas guys like Mike Sigel and such were the thinkers and the movers. Some say 'Captain Hook' respresented his shaft when he broke the balls, others said because of his nose, but I think that all would agree that Captain Hook came from Mike's ability to jail his opponents by hooking them in safeties. While offense is still Earl's best weapon, he has adapted and now also plays more safties. David, as the safety and moving plays became more important also adapted, he decided in the early 90's to stop touring and focus more on the business side of Pocket Billiards with Lil Davids pro shop.

I have watched David do an amazing stroke trick shot, and in fact it is one shot that since I saw it some 15 years ago I have never been able to do even once. I had the pleasure of running into Andy Segal at Comet Billiards and asked him for help with the shot. He told me it was a hanger, but after 20 minutes of trying it, neither one of us was even close to executing it.

I have always loved watching David play, and when he shows up at the US Open, it's fun to root for him because even though he may be the underdog, he's still allowed to beat the killers of today.

Good luck selling your cue. There are alot of Meucci Original collectors out there that would like that cue in their collection. I actually have a very rare Meucci Original in my collection that may just surface in this forum in the near future. I just have to figure out how much I would need to sell it and then decide if people would actually pay that amount.

P.S. If I were in the market for Meucci Originals, I think that your starting bargaining price is very fair and I would jump all over it. Just not the time for me to add more to my collection.

I'd be interested to hear what he gets for the cue. I'd also be shocked if he could get $400 for a used "pretty good condition" DH-2. Maybe if it was new...maybe.

I just sold a used DH-3 Star of David cue, and couldn't even get $400 for it, and it's a much more detailed (and more desirable, from what I've heard) cue.

If you can get it, more power to you...I just have my doubts.
