I purchased the Dayton cross cue that Bamacues had up for sale last week. This is the first big pin cue I have ever owned. I have always played with a Meucci cue or Meucci styled cue from another builder. I have never been a world beater mainly due to poor cb control as I seem to be able to make any cut shot on the table if I can see it. What I have discovered is the cues I had been useing were part of the problem for me anyway. I always seemed to have that what the h&ll was that shot during a run out where the cue ball just did not react like I thought it should.
Now I am certainly not blaming it all on the cue because I know most of it was me but with this new cue those shots seem to be disapearing. I have had it for 3 days now and have been able to run out several times with no cue ball control issues at all. This thing seems to be my magic wand for lack of a better metaphor.
It is WAY stiffer than any cue I have ever played but with responsiveness where I can "feel" the amount of spin being applied. Speed control is WAY better than before and whitey just seems to go right where it is supposed to. I can not say enough good things about this cue. I was really worried that I would not be able to draw the ball with the stiffer cue but actually I draw it better with much more control than before
. I am not sure why or how whether it is the shaft taper or the stiffer joint but I love it!!
I do not have pics but they are up on Bamacues site. The workmanship and wood in this cue are amazing to me. It has a heartwood BEM forearm that is naturally dark and just beutiful. The shafts are old wood with a nice rich color that I actually like better than the white shafts that most cues have.
