Can anyone tell me what kind of cost I can expect to have if I was to attend the Derby City Classic? I am wondering about the least expensive place to stay in proximity to the derby. This is an event I wanted to attend for a long time, but I kind of have doubts since I don`t really know anyone attending. But I feel the excitement of the Derby drawing me there. Just need to know what kind of expenses I can expect , I do have a limited budget. Thanks for any help!

Well food cost eating out are the same as everywhere else in America, gas is cheaper than some other southern states and motels close to DCC will be around $50 cheapest to $75 in the middle and $120 upper limit. Now the bad news is the host hotel is sold out and there will be no parking unless you ride around and catch someone leaving and there will be ten cars doing this all the time day and night. The host hotel is the real deal because it can be real cold in Louisville and 1/2 mile walks to vehicle will be very hard and that doesen't mean you get a parking place if you stay there. They have a sandwich vender and resturant inside hotel so you don't have to leave at all and there is nonstop action everywhere you look in hotel bottom floor so no need to go to another poolroom, oh and I forgot it is the BOMB no shitskey. See you there--Leonard

I think red roof is 55/nite or so and its just down the road. 1/4 mi maybe. Food; if you really wanna be cheap, get some pb+j from the store and get a fridge in uer room. Other wise i would figure 30-40/day for 3 meals+snax. then another 15/day for tourney passes. So I think it works out to about 100/day. If you pack your room like most people do with 6 -8 bodies it gets a lot cheaper.

I hope I don't ever have to share one toilet with 8 or 10 stanking ol fellows to see a pool tournament, heck that would be worse odds than prison. I'm as big a pool nut as there is and 8 or 10 women in the room with me would be cool but not commode filling no spraying men. LOL I will sleep in a cold car first and call it camping.
