You can sing up on site, just make sure you do it before the draw. I would say an hour or so. I have always done it online.

Paying now online is $110.
You can sign up tomorrow at the venue for the same price, but usually a line.
You can also sign up on Friday morning/afternoon for a "late" fee, and usually wait in a much longer line. Late fee is around $25 bucks or so? just a guest

If you lose a match find someone to play a $100 set instead of buying back that way at least one of you will be getting something from the "buy back"
