Defending Champion Amit Advances Through Women’s World 10-ball Semis

Rubilen “Bingkay” Amit, Women’s World 10-ball defending champion, made it to the semi-final round of the 2010 Yalin Women’s World 10-Ball Championship after defeating Norway’s Line Kjoersvikn (8-2) today (October 28, 2010) in a match held at the Robinson’s Galleria.

The victory is Amit’s third win in a row after suffering a 6-2 loss against Taiwan’s Chen Tsai Pei. Prior to the match, she defeated Canadian Joanne Ashton (8-2) and Chinese Han Yu (8-7), who first posted a 3-6 lead in the game. The Filipino pride, who admitted Han Yu gave her a hard time during the match, got away from the lead after the Chinese missed on the crucial 9th ball.

The 28-year-old is set to face Ga Young Kim of South Korea, a former world champion and a three-time US Open winner, in the semi-final round tomorrow.

The tournament, which is hosted by dragon promotions and sponsored by Yalin Tables, started on October 23rd. Participants include English Allison Fisher, Jasmin Ouschan and Karen Corr. The winner of the event will be decided on October 29th at Robinson’s Galleria and will take home the $20,000 prize.

Nice one Amit...
