Definition of a NIT???

Yesterday, I was playing my weekly small stakes game with a friend. We usually play from 7:30 until 10:00 p.m. We keep track of wins and whoever has the most wins gets the prize...10 whole dollars...I said small stakes!

Well, yesterday we were both off work so we played from 12:30 until 3:00 p.m. My friend had a 20 minute phone call somewhere within that timeframe and we took a little break during the call.

Well, when 3 rolled around and I needed to quit (a previous engagement with my wife), I found myself up by 4 games. Now my friend...the NIT...starts calling foul because we didn't play the usual 2 1/2 hours (shortened by his phone call) and said he didn't have to pay the $10. I argued that time was not a factor, we break each game alternately so we each had equal chances to win each game. He cried for 10 minutes before he reluctantly gave up the cash.

Now you tell me...is that a NIT or is that a NIT????

I'll keep playing him, it's the only practice I get other than league play during the week and overall, it's kind of fun.

Yes..... a nitty move on his part.

Tell him that if he wants to practice with you, that shall never happen again.

all this for $10?
and he was your friend?
and in 2.5 hours, during the day?
you both do this on a regular basis?
and this hasn't happened before?

Sounds like there is a litte NIT in both players.

Did he call the cops and turn you in for gambling afterwards?

I can see his point if this was over $14, but it was only $10!;)

I agree with Ross!

Only one more thing..........Did he attempt to have the pool hall closed down when the owner wouldn't make you forgive the $10?

Ray
(friendly wagering can easily get nitty)
