Roberto Gomez takes it down five games to two over local player Marc Hosler.
The first Gomez vs. Rivas match went hill hill with each player having two wins racing to three. In game five, Gomez missed a bank but managed to park his game ball right in front of his hole with only two balls left on the table. From just north of the opposite side pocket, Rivas tried to pocket Gomezs last ball and jump the cue ball off the table. He succeeded in pocketing the ball obviously. (Gomez had left his game ball almost in the jaws.) but the old “pocket the ball and jump whitey off the table” shot failed when Rivas pounded it but left the cue ball on the table!
