Please help me find the standard. Maybe 1.15 inches to 1.35 inches. Doesn’t sound like much until you compare house cues to custom cues. I’d really like help finding custom cue maker who’s standard is toward BIG I had Schon that was large compared to others Thanks

I've never heard of a cue that was 1.35" in diameter at the fattest part of the cue, which would be at the very end of the butt. That measurement then tapers down to the joint, so in the middle of the handle it would not be 1.35". If the joint measures 0.840" and the end of the butt measures 1.35", and the butt has a straight taper from one end to the other, then (1.35 - 0.84) / 29 is the change in diameter per inch, which is 0.0176" change in diameter per inch along the length of the cue. If the middle of the grip is 10.5 inches from the end of the butt, then the middle of the grip will have a diameter of 1.35 - (.0176 * 10.5) = 1.165 inches.

If the end of the butt is 1.30", and the cue has as straight taper, then the middle of the grip will be: 1.30 - (0.0176 * 10.5) = 1.115" in diameter. Most cues made today measure 1.25" and below at the very end of the butt, and Becue makes a 1.21" butt. For production cues, Viking makes a 1.30" butt. I'm not aware of any custom makers that will make a 1.30" butt, much less a 1.35" butt.

If you like a house cue, see if you can find a custom maker that will cut one in half and add a joint.

find the size you like
then discuss with cuemaker of your choice if he can build it that way
my $0.02

Wow that is thick.are you sure it's that diameter? Well, there are number of ways it can be done. This also will depend, on what cuemaker you go with. Some won't build any bigger than the standerd of today's cues.
Another way is buy an old hoppe or a very old brunswick cue, and have someone, do a simple conversion. Nearly all those old cues will be a large diameter. Thay generally finish Anywhere Between 134 and 146.
I have had a couple, cues built at a lerger diameter. The easiest one, was the defiantly the conversion, as it was pretty much, at the correct size.
Good luck with your search.
