Diamond pro cut

In my town there are no 9 footers so I have very little experience on them (maybe 30-40 games lifetime). I traveled a few hours away to a pool hall that had diamond table with pro cut pockets and all I can say is holy crap they are tough. I played in a small tourney and took third but only because everyone was rattleing shots. I myself had a heart breaker as I was hill-hill and just had to make the 9 on a slight back cut to side pocket from 2 feet away to be guaranteed 2nd place and I rattled it!! On the flipside I played like a beast on the bar tables afterwards lol

Try a snooker table next time. (And then go find a Russian pyramid table afterward.)

Tough for me.

I have a very forgiving 9' Rebco table. When I play on the 9' Diamonds at the Palace in Anchorage I ain't as good as I a on my table. If I was rich I would have a 9' Diamond with pro cut pockets, they are tougher then I am.

Hi Medallio,

I have sold Diamond tables for years now throughout North America and in my opinion are the best tables not only for quality but for your game. They play true and the corner pockets from factory are 4.5" with side pockets at 5" that really make you focus on accuracy which will elevate your game. If you could play on a Diamond regularly you would see you game elevate. It's easy to shot a ball in over sized pockets which allows you to take shots for granted. Diamond forces you to respect every shot and dial in which promotes the focus required to play at a higher level. Diamond also offers tables with pockets at 4.25" & 4 1/8".

After when you went to the bar table and the pockets appeared huge, like you couldn't miss, your confidence was higher because of the discipline and respect the Diamond table demanded of you. The same would be true going from a 12 foot snooker table to a Diamond table as NervousNovice mentioned. The Daimond tables pockets would feel very large after a few hours on the snooker table.

Enjoy the game and try to aim the object ball into a particular part of the pocket and not just at the pocket. This will help you be more accurate and allow you to obtain cue ball movement and shape you didn't know was available.

Have fun and enjoy the game

There are 2 diamond 9' at the pool hall I go to. One with 4.25" pockets and the other with 4" as well as a Gold Crown with 3 7/8" pockets. Most pro cut pockets are 4.5" but they play tighter than other tables because of the depth of the shelf.
