Diamond Pro Pocket Specs

Are the Diamond Pro corner pocket specs standardized or have they changed over the years...or can you order custom specs?

I guess what I am getting at is whether is is proper to make broad generalizations about the way that table plays which would only be correct if they are basically all the same.

I'm interested primarily in jaw width, shelf depth measured from behind the line between the points and the angle of the facings.

THANKS!

Jim

what specifications are you looking for? Here's a link to you tube with Greg Sullivan talking about exactly your question. He explains about pocket opening, shelf depth and standardizing for tournaments. If I remember correctly I haven't watch in a few months.

THANKS for the link. Very interesting that he pointed out that the points are slightly above the vertical center of the ball and therefore, the pockets are slightly narrower than a measurement between the points would indicate.

But I'm still interested in the shelf depth in inches...at the deepest point that a ball can rest on and whether their pocket specs...in general...are the same on all Pro tables or whether customers can and often do order specific jaw width and shelf depth specs.

Here's why I'm asking. Frequently, we see people express the view that "A Diamond Pro plays tougher than a GC IV." Or the opposite.

But if the pocket specs on tables all over the country are often different, then obviously such broad generalizations are not true.

I know that even tables with identical specs can play differently for various reasons but I am just curious has to how standardized Diamond Pro specs are.

THANKS!
