Diamond Scarring

Anyone out there hear of any solutions to the way a Diamond table's pockets mark up the balls? Fortunately I have a ball polisher but, often afer just a rack or two those nasty black scars start showing up. Hand Santizer cleans it right off but, it's really a pain to stop between racks to repolish, retouch the balls. Primarily play 14.1 so it's not like we're slamming balls into the pockets all the time. Anybody heard of a coating or application that could be appllied? I still can't believe that Diamond hasn't fixed this.

Diamond does have a solution. You can purchase new pockets that have a different type of dye in them. I can tell you that after years of the same problem that you have, I did buy the pockets and although they aren't exactly cheap they're well worth the money. Good Luck

I have the same table and reading this thread something just came to me. Would a clear coat of fingernail polish along the rim of the pocket stop the dye from getting through?

This came up a few years ago.

I gave Diamond a method that I thought might work and this past SBE I did ask about it and was told that they are using this method and that it does work. So call them and get a new set of pockets and you should be ok.
