Different tip on an ob1 or ob2

Hello to all. I was just wondering what tips people have on their ob1's and ob2's and their opinions on how they feel to them. I have played with both shafts with an everest tip, talisman, triangle, lepro, and porper majestic tips. Does anyone have a kamui black soft or supersoft, or the kamui brown med, med-soft, or soft on either shafts? Reason I am asking is cause I am going to purchase an ob1 or ob2 for my new cue, but i am not a fan of the everest tip. Thanks everyone for your input.

I agree with your assesment of the everest tip. Its a soft hitting shaft with a super hard tip. I just recently put a kumai medium on, can feel the tip grab the ball a little better. I still would like an even softer tip, but the kumai is an improvement and I miscue alot less.

i have a kamui brown medium on my standard shaft for my prather cue, but have noticed that even it is a bit too hard. on the same token, it does grab the cb more. which shaft do you have, the ob1 or ob2?

kamuii

Kamuii brown, medium, OB-2.

Its too hard for me, will be changing to a Kamuii Black Soft....soon!

i have had both the ob1 and ob2 before, and i believe i made a mistake in selling them both. i have finally come to understand that the tip of the shaft can make or break the playability of the cue. i do understand there are other factors, but personally believe that this one thing is the most important. to everyone that has posted so far, thank you. i would still love to hear other opinions.

I have the OB-1 & 2 shafts, but mainly use the OB-1. I am trying the new Tiger Emerald Green hard tip at the present and it plays good. I had the Black Kaumi hard tip and I loved it, but the cost is high so thats why I am trying the Emerald tip. I like the hard tips because I have a better feed back.

Tip on OB2

I play a Schon OB2 and immediately removed the Everest and installed a Sniper. The hit, response and feedback is incredible. IMO the most consistent hit there is with no miscues to date. Thanks Rod...

P.S. I am also a Canadian distributor for OB.

sniper? is that a layered or non layered tip? I have thought about trying a triangle non layered tip.

sniper, triangle

sniper? is that a layered or non layered tip? I have thought about trying a triangle non layered tip.

sniper is a layered tip. i have tried a triangle on regular maple shafts and laminated shafts, and they do play good, just too hard for me.

I also play with schon OB-2 shafts. My choice tip is the moori medium. Spin control is incredible and I have no probs with miscues. I have never had a problem with the moori tips delaminating as has been posted by others. I think kamui is the current "flavor of the month" but the emerald green tips are sure to take over first place as ST. Paddys day grows nearer. I will continue with moori and just buy a green felt marker....Dan

i agree, i have had a few tips on mine kamui brown, kamui black ss, and a few others and IMO the sniper goes best with this shaft.

what would you compare the sniper tip to, as far as playing characteristics, that way i can have an idea of how it feels?

I put a Talisman soft on my OB-1 2 months ago, and after break in.....6 hours....it plays perfect for me....granted I like a softer hit.

I just received a kamui ii soft, and a kamui ii med-soft tips. I am going to get these installed on my schon shafts and evaluate them. If I dont like these, then I am gonna try a sniper. I do think the kamui ii soft will play close to the same as the sniper, but that is just a guess.
