Do I Hate Simonis

I know it's kinda hard to expect other people to care about what cloth I have on my pool table.

But you know that state you get into when you have to make a buying decision and you just can't get comfortable with what choice is right? A friend of mine calls it "spinning out." I guess a more common word for it would be "anxiety."

So here's the situation. I had an Olhausen that I thought had Simonis 860 on it. So I've been badmouthing 860, because it was just too darn fast for me (I'm a beginner). It's just plain hard to get the cue ball to stop rolling.

But when the movers were dismantling the Olhausen to move it, we looked at the cloth, and...well, see the picture.

It was ***760***, not 860. The dealer put the wrong cloth on it.

Meanwhile, I'd been planning to put Championship Invitational on my incoming factory-refurbished Diamond, believing as I did that Simonis 860 was too fast. But since it was actually 760, maybe I'm making a mistake by going to the Invitational. Maybe I should just get actual real 860 and hope that it plays better. A bit slower but not dead-ish slow.

Supposedly, all three pool rooms where I play have 860 on their tables, and all seem fine to me.

Anybody have any advice? Anybody actually played on both 760 and 860?

I still have till the end of the week to decide, because my Diamond is being delivered on Friday.

I need to rest my spinning mind.

I have played on both and I agree that 760 is very fast. 860 is what the pros play on and I feel is the best of both worlds as far as cloth is concerned. It is faster that "fuzzy" cloth, but not "like glass". It is the truest playing cloth you can buy...in my opinion.
