Do you recognize your exercise shots?

In another post the L exercise I use so much came up. While responding to it I thought right away about the several times this weekend that that these shots came up.

I thought I'd bring up the subject of remembering to recognize these shot. I always recognize them when I'm playing position to a ball that is in the same position as the next ball would be in the exercise. However I probably miss out on using the reference other times when I could. Even if it is just close the shot and the ball your playing for is nowhere near the next ball in the exercise but you need to get to that spot. Or you need to get to one or the other side of that spot you can use the exercise shot as a reference and adjust one way or the other.

Point being that you can use the reference to the exercise to put yourself into a comfort zone.

I have been working on the "sweet 16" shots from the Pro Book. The shots do come up a lot while I am playing. I have really just started trying to make an effort to link game shots with the practice counterpart.

I think the key is to recognize the shots and take note of how the shot is different from the practice shot. Usually the angle, distance, ect. are different but recognizing the practice shot allow me ot make adjustments with more confidence.
