Does anyone use Elmers Glue for tips?

As the title says, i have heard some cuemakers prefer to use elmers glue for tips rather than cyano.

Could the cuemakers please highlight the reasons why they use the glue of their choice?

Is elmers good for use on tips?

How come you use yellow glue, that is very popular with snooker players i know but cyano has been much more popular with pool players

When using yellow glue do you leave the shaft set up in the lathe whilst it cures?

From my experience i can understand that using elmers could be easier to keep the ferrule clean, as you can wipe it off. Cyano is quicker, but at the same point can be more difficult to work with

I use cyano. It's quick and has held up for me. I've used epoxy a couple of times on break tips but have never tried elmers. I'd be afraid that it wouldn't have the holding power of the others.
 
As Dave said, it depends on the ferrule material. You can use yellow wood glue on porous ferrules such as LBM, Ivorine, Melamine, Ivory, and Micarta. Nonporous ferrules such as PVC, ABS, Porper, Juma, Elforyn, and Saber-T, would need CA glue. Epoxy should work on most of these ferrules but make sure you score the face of the ferrule, especially on nonporous ferrules.

I have never used white Elmers glue.
 
But which glue is the best???? for such as..ivorine,ivory melamine,pvc
glue what you can use for al those ferulle types...btw I use Loctite 455

After applying the tip to the shaft end I just clean off the excess glue and hold it in place with a rubber band. If I have a dozen shafts I'm working on, by the time I get to the last one I can start all over again and shape the tips to my liking. If you're only doing one shaft at a time you'll have a little wait time involved. If you're doing a tip for customer while they wait, you'll probably fair better with the cyno or tell them to go get lunch for you.
It just seems to always work out for me that I glue the tips on right before I'm walking out of the shop for the night.
