Does choice of a cue matter?

Hello all,

I'm ready to replace my old cue as the shaft is warped and the cue is a touch too but I was wondering - does the cue matter at all?

If I go for Predator Revo can I still use my old cue with it and have the same performance or has the tech advanced and I'm better off with a new cue also? (the cue i have now is about 20 years old and it was roughly £75 so nothing special)

I haven't played for a while but want to get back to it so want to get a new shaft and wonder if i need new cue also.

Any feedback is appreciated
Thank you

not really. find something you like in your price range. cues tend to be way over estimated in their importance. A good $100 sneaky will play as well as anything.
that was my thought exactly but i wanted to check. Its the shaft that makes all the difference :)

I am guessing that you are from the British Isles. One thing to think about when getting a new shaft is that the shaft and joint are of the same diameter. I'm from a snooker background and like to get my chin on the cue. If there is a bump because of differing diameters it can really effect you stroke.

Efren Reyes when he first came to USA played with JUNK Cue by many people standards. He won won, won, how could that be? Efren had & owned SKILL & POOL IQ.
