custom cue i sent him half for march of 2023 he said 5 months
october i ask about progress, hes clearly forgotten about it
nov he says 5-6 more weeks and asks if i can pay the rest so he can get some medicine for mom the next month
sends progress pics now
meaning he never started back when i made the deposit
december nothing
january i ask about completion time, feb, march i remind him its been a yr and he promises to send next monday
next week he doesnt because religious holiday promises to next week. that was a week ago today he promised to.

screw this shit im getting a paypal refund

The first payment refund window has expired, you have 180 days. If you backed it with a credit card, you may be able to get a charge back through

i noticed that, and they wont even let me report a refund till may 1st it says
The part i was able to send a report about an issue they just forwarded it to him 🤦‍♂️

Now all of a sudden photos of a beautiful finished cue the looks to have been complete for who knows how long
show up with more promises of sending

He may well indeed be going through tough times as he claims
But I still do not recommend to get a custom made by him, buy something that’s already finished
 
Never underestimate the power of a legitimate complaint made on AZB. Not to toss a wrench in the gears, but have you given any thoughts to how to handle the final payment? Please let us know when the cue is in your hands.

Having lived in the Philippines many years, this is so common. Black Pearl was the only maker who never asked for a deposit or anything (although i gave) in any of the cues he built for me. I also bought one from him a (JD cues not Black Pearl) few years back and it was a mess when i finally got it, the veneers were not even close to what i ordered. He made it right the 2nd time, but it felt strange, gave it away to a coworker. Seriously felt like the shafts were 15mm or something super big..... I had bought from him an already assembled cue that he had sitting around previously, prior to allowing him to make me one and he did ok on that one. There was also one other maker that got me too, paid half up front, a dozen more excuses and the cue was fully paid,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, this dude finally admitted to being kicked out of his house due to lots of problems with gambling etc and another 6 months pass by and the cue finally shows up. His name was Tim, Manila cue maker-came on the scene hot and heavy - dont think that he lasted a year.

Another reason to by a built cue or production cue.

Trust me i agree,,,, Blackpeart is decent quality and i havent tried all the makers here but there pricing was good 6 or 7 years back and then all of a sudden it seemed like they were inline with US makers, which is craziness.

I have 2 break and 2 players from blackpearl that are fine still some 7 or 8 years old now but i would lose my ass on selling them now. That's the difference with a US cuemaker building you a cue as well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, chances are 7 or 8 years later your not going to have to sell it for 50% of what you paid.

I never bought anything in my life with regard to selling it. I’m
Only speaking for myself there’s no reason to sell my cues unless I want them gone. If I was a flipper and it is a business that’s different. I do have a number of production cues since 1998. They are in 99% condition that could be sold for more than they cost or I could break even. I have 2 customs. One I could get good money the other probably 50%.

So I didn’t want to do this but he blocked me after coming at me so fk this guy

Jd messaged me last night after seeing this thread claiming that I destroyed his business and affected his family

I had to force him to do the job that I already paid in full for .

After several times asking him to stop he finally did but when I seen he had blocked me that was all I could stand I’ll post the screen shots here soon

NEVER BUY FROM JD CUES
 
I didn’t want any of this to happen just to have a beautiful cue that I’ve wanted for about 8 years now
That design blew me away when I seen it first so long ago
And still does when I look at it every day
 
It didn’t need to come to this I was some what sympathetic until he chose to blame his problems on me

Probably under the influence at the time of some substance
