E-bay Problem..PART 2!!

Heya guys,

For those that followed my trials and tribulations with an E-bay transaction recently, I've got an update for ya'll. I sent him an e-mail early this morning, telling him I needed his answer about the refund issue today...otherwise, I was shipping the cue to him Monday, insured and with delivery confirmation.

And then......

I came to the realization that I really CAN'T trust this guy at all. We make a deal, he backs out, and then gives ME stipulations regarding the refund he says "I owe him." Obviously, this dude isn't on the up and up when it comes to doing good business.

Here's my concern(s). He could mess it up and try to claim fraud on my end. He could mess it up and try to claim insurance. He could try a chargeback through paypal, saying the cue wasn't as described, or whatever. The list goes on and on.

I don't feel comfortable sending this AWESOME Joss cue to this jerk. It would be a waste, and he obviously doesn't want it enough to follow through on his purchase....so looks like I'm gonna send the refund. I'm keeping the paypal and e-bay listing fees...but he'll get the shipping charges I already spent to gear this up for him.

All in all, I guess $20 is a pretty cheap lesson...all things considered. It's almost like I'm deciding on the lesser of two evils......but at least the next guy that buys the cue will ACTUALLY buy it.

That said, DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY AT ALL!!!! Look in the previous thread on this subject to see the link to the E-bay deal. His username is there for all to see.

To this end, the Joss cue is now up for grabs again. I'll post the info and some better pics later today/tonight.

Thanks for all the support, ya'll. Much appreciated for all the kind words, great advice, and backup.

Be good, ya'll.

Its a nightmare like I said in part one of this thread.
You are correct, sir. I'm just glad to be done with that jacka$$. I did, in the end, charge him for the paypal fee, e-bay listing fee, and e-bay final value fee. I was hunting for $50 for my expenses and trouble...but I ultimately pulled $38.

This mess only cost me 12 bucks....so, relatively, it was a cheap education on the finer points of idiots and their behavior!! :)

paypal

I still use paypal but am always careful. Let him fight you over the fees you took out if he wants but there's still alot of good buyers and sellers on ebay so dont get discouraged, its the price of doing business.
Good Luck:o

Mark I think you should be okay as long as you do the refund via ebay and paypal refund policy and tools. I have had have had issues in the past and was able to resolve them okay. Still at 100% on ebay. I never leave feedback till after the other guy....

I would use the TRUST ebay on the large ticket items, just to protect myself from issues like this in the future.

My best to you on this. Bugs.

Thanks, bugs.

I've gotten it resolved now. Gave the guy his money back, via Paypal, minus my fees.

He wrote a quick note, "thanking me for my understanding" and left me positive feedback on E-bay. This problem is now closed.

THE CUE IS NOW SOLD!!. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=27063

Thanks, ya'll.

The 'restocking' fee and the 'service' fee .... lol
:)

I KNEW I FORGOT ONE OF THE FEES!!! :)

Can't complain too much....I wanted $50 for my trouble...I got $38.

Ah, yes the Varner Joss, I remember it well. Not for me, I love Schon's over Joss's, but it is an interesting item.

What can you tell me about the Hoppe over the Gambler in the group picture.

Bugs.

Unfortunately, not much. Not my set of cues.....Scot Sherbine had all these in for refinish at the same time.

Sorry!

Wow...didn't know that. I'll contact E-bay tonight.

Thanks!

And also a free Relist. But that deadbeat bidder will be contacted and asked to verify that the deal was not completed. However, There is no way to get a paypal fee credit.

Thanks, rackem. No need to worry about the relist, though...cue's been sold to another AZB member.

Danke,
