Was surprised to read your statement about the two different types of One Pocket played on either Coast.
In 1961 in San Francisco all the great One Pocket players in the country came to Cochran's [or as some new it 1028 Market Street] to play in a Round Robin One Pocket Tournament. It was won by Ronnie Allen who beat Jack Perkins in the finals.
It was fabulous to watch "Handsome" Danny Jones, Eddie Taylor,
"Rags" Woods, Norman Weber, "Rusty" Jones and others I cannot recall.
I got to see a lot of different styles.
Didn't there used to be the same thing in 14.1 Continuous? I don't recall the difference but I seem to remember there was one.
And to Hemicudas : Have solace in the knowledge that only us oldsters had the experiences and now hold those fond memories, and this crop of youngsters will never know what they missed!!!!!!!!!!
