This is Ceylon ebony. I purchased it over 20 years ago.
It is dry and ready to build cues with.
As you can see it has some brown figure that runs through it which is typical with this ebony. I've built many cues with this stock and each one is unique with its own striping of brownish figure.
These squares vary a bit in size but they all have plenty of meat for a cue build.
The short one has the check on the one end and as I shaved it down to 18" long it continually got smaller.
In the last picture I slid a .0005 thick piece of shim stock into the check and marked it with a marker when it wouldn't go in any further. No guarantees.
Worst case scenario may be just a forearm or handle piece off that one.
The piece on the far right hand side should be cut into a forearm length and back sleeve length to turn them round because of the bow in it.
The group picture shows the side with the most brown figure.
