Efren losses to Tolentino - Philippine 9-Ball Open update

excuse me guys, When you play rotation, or gamble at it, is it like 9-ball where you only win when you make the 15 ball, and play sets?, or are there other money balls along the way, like 5/9/etc.....Thanx....Gerry

The first one who scores 61 points or more is the winner...if you count the number from ball 1 to 15 thats a total of 120..Hence..if you score 61 or more points you win...You can make shoots in sequence number...however...you could make a combination...or if during breaking...you drop a ball higher than number 1..it is ok...

Its Orcollo and Bustamante in the Finals..
Orcollo had just completed two high quality 9-ball games..against..
Ramil Gallego...and Ronnie Alcano...
The game with Gallego was a seesaw battle with very few errors on
both of them...until the 15th rack...when Gallego miss the 2 ball...and
that's his last visit at the table..on the other hand..on Alcano's match..
was again a high quality match...But Orcollo just played awesome and
the outcome is 11-8...

Bustamante and Orcollo is next in a race to 15 9-ball game..

Oh, So if I understand correctly, you break, and if you make a ball, you keep going and get the points from the ball you made? Then you have to hit the lowest number ball on the table first like 9-ball. So you can play the 1-6 combo for instance and you have 6 points? I guess when you get past 61 you have won the frame. What do scratches cost you? just 1 point? and ball in hand?....Thanx, Gerry

Lower ball first, yes, like 9 ball. Object ball can be comboed with any higher numbered ball and you get that higher point. You finished faster. For any foul, scratch, jump from the table, hit the wrong ball, or miss the object ball the next shooter have a choice to spot the object ball and the cue will be placed anywhere behind the headstring line only. Ball in hand anywhere on the table is not allowed, or he can choose to play just where it lays. But for scratch or jump from the table, where the shooter made a good contact with object ball then the CB must be placed behind the headstring and the object will remain where it is. No penalty points on any fouls. You only need 61 to win. Also, if the other player made a very good safety, and there is no way to contact the object ball, then he can give up the shot and the object will spotted and CB will be placed behind the headstring for the next shooter.

Thanx for explaining Parvus, Seems alot of strategy would come into play in that game. I've played rotation, but more like 9-ball, but we paid on 5/10/15 balls....Gerry

You're exactly right Parvus.

Bustamante wins the Philippine 9-Ball Open against Dennis Orcollo.
The Final score is 15-13...
Orcollo is leading all the way...until the 20th rack..where the game
have become a seesaw battle.. but unfortunately for Orcollo he
made a collosal mistake (as John Kerry would say ;) ) on 26th and 27th
rack. Diango by the way employs a medium break instead of his
patented power break. Orcollo has nothing to be ashame bcoz this is his
2nd time on the FINALS for the 2nd Philippine 9-Ball Open, but he just
simply lost steam and the nerve at the end.

Congratulations then to Bustamante !!!
