One night, it was Efren, Corey, and Mika playing a game to 10 points. Actually, it was early one morning, probably around 3:00 a.m. I walked it about midway through the game. It was interesting to see each of their styles when applied to the game of billiards.

Mika used to go to CaromCafe quite often when Sang Lee was around. They played 80-30 a few times. Sang Lee would explained things along the way. Other friends have also taught him a bit. So he does know the game a little.

Before the 3 way game, Corey was warming up with Mika for quite a while. To my observation Corey has the ability to learn very quickly. When first asked he actually wanted to bet on the 3 way 10 pt game, but we thought it was too complicated for the late night. So they settled to play for "bragging rights".

I would say Efren is very creative that he tried a lot of unusual shots and claimed he doesn't know how to play. Maybe he was waiting for Corey to bet.

Many thanks to Dennis in helping this thing happened. Corey and Efren were using Dieckman cues (great hitting cues). Mika was using my own Japanese Helmstetter double-joint Sang Lee cue. (one out of four, which will be put away for archival as soon as my Dieckman arrives.....

Everyone had great little fun. :)

Cuetable, Thanks for taking those pictures of the 3 Cushion action. But I was wondering if you took other 3 cushion photos or if any other AZers took photos of the 3 Cushion action, and would post them.

Hi Bob:

I have sized down and uploaded all the photos I took from DCC this year onto http://cuetable.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=4800

More 3C photos of Efren / Mika / Corey can be found at page 3, 4, 5
http://cuetable.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=4800&g2_page=3
http://cuetable.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=4800&g2_page=4

Also, I have started a 3 Cushion Shot Specific Q&A Discussion Forum using 3cCueTable at CueTable Public Library. Please join and share some layouts with other 3C learners.

One idea: Intermediate players can print out 3C table layout templates and bring with them to practice games. They will record any difficult shots using pencils as a sketch for the 3cCueTable layouts later...

My Favorite Picture of the "Group"

Here is my favorite picture of the ones I took during their 3-way match. It is a side view of one that Wei took when Efren was showing Cory a shot & everyone wanted to get a closer look.

12squared, Thanks for the picture. I see Mika Holding a Dieckman Cue, which Wei [cuetable] mention Efren, Corey, and Mika were using Wei personal cue and Dieckman Cue.

Wei, Thank for added info.

Yeah, they were experimenting to find a billiard cue that felt comfortable to them since they're used to pool cues so they used many cues. Dennis (Dieckman) was the greatest, he was the one that kept the room open all night, every night & loaned his cues to whomever wanted to try them. He was a great host. I think Cory used his own cue, however.

Thank you, again, Dennis, for your thoughtfulness & work to keep things going in the evening. It was a nice break from the normal DCC "barking" ;).
