Efren to America

I was talking with a few guys last night after leagues. They were telling me that Efren was brought to America from two guys that owned the pool hall in Rochester, MN. They said back then, Rochester actually had a good pool scene and put on some decent tournaments. These guys were telling me stories of the infamous spot shot that only Efren can make and sure enough, he was pulling it off here.

Does anybody have any stories from back then of being up here and playing him or playing in any tourneys in Rochester back in the mid 80s?

the one I heard about, it is with the cue in the jaws of head left
corner pocket, and make the spot shot into the left foot corner pocket
(back cut the ball) without scratching.

the only "infamous" spot shot i know related to efren, is where he drop the ob without the cb touching a rail. don't know how he did it, but i heard he did it like 9 or 10 times in a row.

i've done it by slow rolling the cb, but i'm sure efren did something clever.

Both of those spot shots are the case. As for the one with the cueball dying, he uses enormous amount of inside english, but it still looks unreal to see him do it!
