Efren's Tip

I know awhile back Efren was playing with a pressed Elkmaster tip. Does anyone know if he's still using that? Or has he switched over to something different in the last few years?

Isn’t there currently a thread regarding those here that want to mimic their hero’s gear cache in the hopes that it will somehow magically transform their game from a purchase? You don’t need a new table, a particular template rack or a new cue or tip. You need to put away excuses and put in the work in table time, there are no shortcuts in this game. Good luck 🍀

Leagues here were (now hopefully temporarily gone) all about looking pro. Most were sub 5s on a scale to 8. Didn't matter if they had any idea how to aim or play they were doing real pool.

With his skill, he could play with tips made from melted plastic toy soldiers.

People always say this, but then why doesn't he? If it makes no difference at all, why doesn't he just play with a broom handle with a piece of gum stuck to it and make everybody look like fools?

He may not know himself. He is about the least 'equipment addicted' player on the planet. Still don't get why people still ask this shit. Its like asking Scheffler what kind of golf ball he plays as if using one yourself would mean a damn thing.

Why wouldn't he use what he's always used or wants to use? Do you really think he's thinking "oh man, I could switch it up and make that Moe Szyslak guy on AzB look like a real idiot"?

People always say this, "so and so could use an umbrella and beat everybody". And yet nobody ever actually does. They actually use pretty good equipment, which is odd, since it doesn't matter at all.

No, but he could be like, "Oh man, I didn't bother bringing my cue to this tournament. I'll just grab a broomstick out of the janitor's closet and use that, it won't make a difference, I'm just that good."

Or maybe the "so and so could use a broomstick and still beat everybody" is what they call an exaggeration?

People think that if they use exactly what so and so does they are going to play like that. The harsh reality is no you are not going to be even close.

Probably because nobody gave him a broom handle with a tip on it. I doubt it makes much difference to Bata what cue and tip he uses as long as it feels good to him.
