Eurowest jump/break cue

About a month ago Markus of Eurowest Cues posted some pictures of his new jump/break cue. As luck would have it the night before the post I sold my Mike Stacey break cue. I emailed Markus and inquired about buying the cue. I must admit when he called me on the phone instead of just emailing I was very suprised. I live in Florida and he is of course in Germany--so communication is a strong point for him. During this transaction we have exchanged numerous emails and Markus has called me twice. I have nothing but praise for Marcus and the handling of this transaction. Before I get to the cue I would like to comment on the shipping. I opted for DHL (they were half the price of other carrier) and the delivery took about 8-9 days total. The package arrived and it took me about 5 mins to get thru all the packing. I have no doubt the delivery truck could have run it over with NO damage. My first impression of the cue was excellent. The finish is perfect and the attention to detail is obvious. The rings are clean and free of any milling marks. The micarta points are perfect and complement the cue nicely. The birdseye maple used is beautiful--I am a sucker for nice birdseye :) The break jump joint is almost invisible. When I showed the new cue off not one person even noticed. The shaft includes a solid phenolic tip--much like other popular break cues. The cue has a 13mm tip with a stiff taper. Just for comparision I made the following taper measurements for both the Eurowest and one of my Searings:

_______Eurowest ___Searing
tip ________ 13 _____ 13
tip base __ 13.2 ___ 13.1
6" down __ 13.5 ___ 13.14
12" down __ 13.9 ___ 13.9

As you can see the break cue is going to be very stiff. So far I have been just as impressed breaking with the cue as I am with its quality. I have to highly recommend Markus and Eurowest cues if you are looking for quality and service. I am posting some links to pictures of the cue. Dial-up WARNING--the pics are big. I wanted you to be able to really see the cue.

Thanks again to Markus

Mind if I ask how much he charges for such a cue?

I am not asking how much you paid, cause that's between you and him...but rather, how much he charges people in general for a jump/break.

Thanks...and nice looking cue by the way.

Depending on your shipping option I would guess about $450-500 total. If I remember correctly two day shipping was over $100-ouch.

Hi Guys,

well Mike I am glad you like the cue. Thanks for your kind words. Shipping is an issue. If I ship cues to the US with UPS from here they charge almost 120 $ for a 3-4 day delivery. If I use DHL it will be only half that amount.

To Shorty:

The Eurowest Break & Jump Custom Cues starts at 360 $ plus shipping.

Best regards,
Markus Funk
