A friend of mine is researching a old table and is wondering if anyone has heard of the manufacture and what quality the tables were.

I've been trying, with absolutely no luck whatsoever, to research the pool table that is in Jack's parents basement. The embossed brass plate says: " Jesse E. Jost, Pool & Billiards, Chicago". It is 9'x4-1/2', 3-pc slate, 1-1/2" thick. All metal contsruction (i.e.: structural members, legs and apron) with wooden tops on the rails. Leather drop pockets. Circa 1920-1950?
any information would be apprciated.

I recently acquired a table with the same brass plate. I was able to find some ifo on the company:

The company, Jesse E Jost Billard Co., was know for their ivory pool cue's and balls in the early 1900's, they expanded into pool tables in the late 1910's. They went out of business during the depression with only a few of these tables remaining today.
