Purple heart billets with 1/8 inch wide slots filled with holly. The larger one is about 1.35 OD with 12 slots and a bored hole almost 3/4" diameter. The bore job was done years ago, so quite stable. This larger billet has 4.5 inch long slots and a useable shank to grip with a chuck to use every bit of the rings. The inlays are deep so one can make both the larger and intermediate size rings from it.
The smaller diameter billet is inlaid also with 12 slots of 1/8 inch holly. Just over 0.88 diameter. Not bored out yet, but also a useable shank area to grip and avoid waste. You should get over 4 inches of useable ring area. I saw a slight flaw, small knot in the holly, it will cut out, but I am not claiming 4.5 inches like the larger billet, just to be conservative in any claims I make.
ANy yellowing the pics show is due to the sealer wiped onto them after rough cutting the excess slot material. Glue used was West Epoxy, slow hardener. I left some glue still on the OD.
I am asking $86 shipped any where in continental USA by Priority US mail. Paypal accepted. Keep in mind these billets are longer than most and also have the shank to grip and avoid wasting any, TY . . . Lou. Please PM any questions or order.
I will be posting more tools and supplies in the future.
