Fake Talisman Tips

So everyone just has to revolve around Talisman tips in order to get what a great tip this supposedly is? Every other tip can accomate to the customers and the cue makers and repair men out there. But if you have to screw with it to a certain extent to get it's full potential then I certainly don't want any part of them. Every other tip can do it but since we (the customers & lifetime pool players) can't understand how to mess with a talisman tip than maybe they should stop making tips.
Not at all, you miss my point. The point is, if you refuse to change to accomodate something different, it doesn't mean that the product is defective or somehow inferior. It just means it doesn't fit your methods or habits. It's like someone that only drives car with an auto tranny saying stick shifts are no good because they can't find the clutch.
I have yet to find a tip maker that is perfect. They all have bad batches sometimes, it's human nature.
I like to put my tip on, play with it for a while. use a tip pick and every now and then scuff the tip then I want a tip that will last and I don't need to be constantly taking care of.
This is the thing I like best about the talisman. They really require very little maintenance. If you chalk properly, (IMO) you might want to reshape it one time, and other than that you are done. Ever notice the people that constantly scuff their tips are the ones that miscue the most? They blame the tip for a flawed stroke, and won't ever cop to it.

Beyond the initial shaping and scuffing upon installation, I've never modified the tip any further except to change the radius from nickel to dime or vice versa for experimentation. As to scuffing - not beyond the initial installation. As to tip piking, that procedure is reserved exclusively for non-layered tips.

Again, I appreciate all of the feedback and will probably try a Tiger tip in the future yet ALL of the Talisman tips installed for myself and others have performed quite well and for months at a time.

By the same token let's consider the Southwest cue. I've hit with several and none improved my game. Perhaps my stroke require modification to use that stick optimally?

So what's the big deal with Southwest even though they're very well made?!?!? Huh? I just wanted feedback so in case some of the Talisman tip's that I purchased went bad, then I know how to react to the problem.

Ive had four Southwests and all have been sold as i didnt care for the particular play of those cues.... But on the other hand ive played with some that werent for sale that i thought played absolutly phenomenol.. Although ive had Richard Harris cues (three cues to date ) that in my opinion have all played fantastic equally..I also need to mention that first off that i dont buy cues particularly for their resale value i just buy what i want, and also at this time i have a Blugrass sneaky that i love but is not my main playing cue...........:D

Housecues must be the best, since I played some of my best games EVER with one. Screw custom cues! :D
